Musical biopic is my favourite genre, especially if it is a biography of a legendary artiste that I love. Walk The Line is one of those biopics. It tells the story of the early rise of Johnny Cash in the Country music industry, with the centre being his inner turmoils and his relationship with June Carter. A story well told to absolute perfection and almost close to the actual reality.
Both the cast and crew really outdid themselves in the bid to make this cinematic masterpiece. The performance of the actors where splendid. Given that the characters are actually real life people, the actors had too much work on themselves. It is safe to say that they really gave it all in this movie. The good materials they where given to work with also helped them a lot. The script was good, the dialogue was engaging and smartly written to be realistic. The movie was given the good pace it needed to tell its story. The art direction, like every work of James Mangold was amazing.
This movie is a must watch, and I recommend it for a hot Sunday afternoon.
Walk The Line is also a subject of many Oscar nominations and awards
