This Nollywood drama is such a gem. It tells a story of Queen Ejiro, an upcoming actress who navigates the treacherous road of fame and success. It is a story of love, betrayal, joy and sorrow. This movie stirred a whole lot of emotions in me, in fact, the entire spectra of human emotional response. There is a lot to love about this movie.

The film had a good story and explored the story to its fullest capacity. The writers knew what kind of story the wanted and they told exactly the way it was meant to be. The idea was further enhanced by the incredible talent of the cast.

The cast was good. The gave their all in this movie. Their performance was golden. It was deep, so deep to pull us the audience into the shoes of their characters and made us feel exactly what they must have felt. The lead actress was beyond amazing. She really deserves an award for this amazing job. The supporting cast were not only good, the served as an energy source for the lead actress to feed on and be better at her craft. I was totally immersed in this world the filmmakers created and left floating in the sea of colours radiating from the actors.

The writing was fine enough. Though the dialogue did not match up with the performance of the cast, but it was the best I have ever seen so far since the era of new Nollywood. As for the plot, it flowed effortlessly from start to finish. It was the waves that helped the audience navigate the aforementioned sea of colours. However I felt the plot was in some cases contrived, bit we can forgive that. The story and actors’ performance has bought that forgiveness.

As for the technicalities, there were a lot of flaws in the cinematography and sound. That should not impede the movie’s achievements. Also this shallow “Lagos And Vibes” influence can be seen throughout the movie. The soundtrack did helped with the storytelling. However it still needed some work in that department.

Generally, it was a good movie in a growing industry. Some flaws are expected, but the core essense of the movie was not contaminated with mediocrity. Rather it was treated as it should, with respect and incredible skill.
