Quarry is a neo noir action thriller. It tells a story of a Vietnam war veteran, who comes back home and becomes entangled in a criminal conspiracy. It transforms him into a colds hearted hitman.
The show is a brilliant masterpiece that did not get the recognition it deserves. A smartly written story, totally grounded in reality. I love how it did not sacrifice its plot for a visual spectacle. The characters are all colorful, flawed and unique in their own way. They are well written in a way that shows every bit of humanity in them, both the good parts and bad parts. The performance of the cast was also wonderful. Their acting was well according to what the writers intended.
Quarry is a period series set in the 70’s. The props and set gives the audience a sense of feeling of what it looks like in that era in such a realistic manner. The pacing of the series is spot on. It seems to be a slow burner, yet every scenes in eventful and integral to the progress of the plot.
