Snowfall is a brilliant show. It tells the story of the rise in power of Franklin Saint, our protagonist, from an average ghetto kid to a powerful drug lord. This show is set in the 80’s, during the crack epidemic in South-Central Los Angeles.

The concept of the show may be a little cliché and may lack originality. In the sense that it has to do with grass to grass and moral ambiguity. However it brings it own flavour in an already over saturated concept, still making it enjoyable and really fun to watch.

The characters in this show are all well written. Attention was all given to both the main and the recurring characters, making the very believable and relatable. In fact, this is the best character arch I have seen in a television series since Breaking Bad. The good characters were brought to life by a talented cast. All praise must go to the cast of this show. They all, without exception gave a wonderful performance. It was so great that it put the audience in a realistic world of the ghettos of South-Central Los Angeles. It was as if the actors themselves were familiar with the 80’s. The really did a commendable job.

The chemistry between the actors profound. It creates a good balance between the characters. Another praise should also go to the writing team who devised this plot. The concept may not be original but the plot brings a whole new flavour. The plot brilliantly tells a story that unfolds in front of our very eyes. It did not rely on expositions. The dialogue is just wonderful. The writing team was indeed very competent.

There were a lot of themes like racism, capitalism, trust, greed and many more. I love how these themes were well tailored in the story without it being preachy or woke.

The technical aspect of the show were also impressive and production value is good for a television series.
